I recently bought some 20 bore cartridges from a friend who was giving up shooting. Amongst them was a fair number of Hull "ULTIMATE twenty" cartridges, fibre wads, 28 gram, in shot size 5 and a half. A few of these had been stored slightly damp in the past, and had a little bit of rust just coming through on the base. I thought I would use these up at the first opportunity to get rid of them before they got any worse.
I was shooting this Friday just gone during the tail end of the storm, and when we found them the birds flew in all directions, and at a great rate of knots. They were really difficult and a lot of shots were fired to no avail. However, I shot the best I have for a long time. These cartridges killed cleanly and at very good distances. I was very impressed with them, and thought to myself that I would get some more.
Have you seen the price of them ? £507 a thousand ! Oh well, it will be good whilst it lasts.
