204 dying off ?

I ran the 50gr Bergers now & again,wasn't to keen on them.
The man above Cyres took my last one's off me.
I'm out today in a overcast,light showers,gusty day up at Weardale,had around 8 with the longest @ 232yds upto now

My 204 Ruger is deadly accurate with 32-40grain bullets. Good with 45grain factory soft point and I've used the berger 50-55 grain too. Accurate enough for roe at medium range.
 
Thing is this , Its not got any place near the 223 rem and the likes in popularity stakes and its not really in the running after a fair few years no or very little up take with other rifle manufacturers not really getting on the 204 band waggon .
If it was Legal for Fox and the smaller deer to say Roe though ? Whole thing could change , don't hold your breath for that though !

I own a bunch of Ruger American Gen 2 but not in .204. I also own a lot of other rifles such as Tikka, Blaser, Ruger M77, CZ..... etc. The Ruger American Gen 2 is a great value rifle, it comes with a spiral threaded barrel, scope rail fitted, the trigger is adjustable and out of the box accuracy is extremely good. I like the 3 position safety for use stalking or at night. They are not smooth like a Tikka, the trigger is acceptable but not the best, you have to look at the price point, overall value and usability.

I use a .223 for night thermal shooting, 16.1" ranch version, nice and compact, it shoots very well. I have a ranch version in .300 blackout that shoots well. I recently purchased a 22" predator model in .22 ARC, it's seriously accurate. I purchased a left hand ranch version in .223 for my son a few days ago, we were bench shooting it 2 days ago with 55 grain soft point reloads and factory PMC 55 grain FMJBT loads, he was achieving half MOA accuracy with it!

Personally I would skip the .204 and buy a 5.56 version, I don't think they sell it as a ".223". Ranch version is 16.1" with a 1:8" twist, standard version is 20" and predator / prairie versions are 22". I like the shorter ranch version with a short sound moderator for night time use. The rifles come in great finishes too. They are some of the lowest cost rifles I own but are great value and performance.

ive got a t3x in 204.

the rifle itself is nothing special its had its problems magazine and bolt spring.

but as a round can not fault it.

super flat next to no recoil great round.

shoots 32 and 40 quite well.

I have a T3 Supervarmint with 20# barrel, punches well above its weight
