Depends how complex the chassis is, it could be a single piece or all sorts of complex shapes. It’s all about the prep time.

Nope, stainless don’t take any longer, but lots of masking for a barrel and action, multiple times for both the media blasting and coating

Truth be told, I wish I had never done mine. At least buying can be touched up when you scratch it, the ‘coat’ just starts to look like shjit.

This was a cerakote job done for me by Mark at High Calibre Coatings. He did the camo pattern on the skins as well as the action, barrel and sound mod.

I would look at who has the best reputation for this work , see plenty poor jobs . Got to say my last one was done during Covid and its still good . Cannot say much for the guys bedding work and his customer service so not got any help with picking a particular party
Less durable than a completely flat panel, but it’s still orders of magnitude better than paint
