After 60 years of practicing being a grumpy b#@*@#d…

Was it me?

I would say, was once told on this forum that putting someone on ignore was a sign of poor character...

Can't remember who it was, nor would I be able to find said post again now I suspect...
I think this forum is much like society...best ignore the people who bring out the worst in you 👍 I think it actually signifies a good resolve so is a sign of good character :)👍 but I only have 1 person on ignore on here

Likewise, everyone else I'm happy to agree to differ with apart from one particular bullying individual who takes exception to anyone having views that differ from his own!

Such a shame spending all 60 years on that goal. Were there no other options when younger?

I spent my first 10 as a feral farm child
The next 10 as a teen alternately addled by outdoor pursuits and the fairer sex
I really didn’t start pursuing GOB as a goal until I passed 50…..

Its also very easy to sit and type something that a "normal" person would not dare to say to someones face. I do try and keep this in mind as its very easy to miss an emoji and cause massive offence unintentionally. At least face to face you can see the smile on someones face when they are saying something controversial ...however some people really dont care who they offend.

Interesting. I have no one on ignore. I figure, if you can't handle someone you disagree with, then you shouldn't really be posting at all, since your data input has been skewed with only people you agree with.

Just seems kinda dumb to limit the data you consume to that which is only from people you agree with. I believe that's called an echo chamber....

And to say you ignore people because you can't control yourself/behavior...well, that is just kind of admitting you're weak or weak willed.

But that's just my opinion....

You clearly didn’t read my original post which set out why I put the fella on the ignore list…

Nothing to do with me disagreeing with anything he's said, or, because I can’t control my behaviour or am weak willed.

I just had enough of him seemingly having to post on everything he could or equally seeming to have far too much time on his hands & using it just to swamp the forum.

I’m more than happy to have a debate or to call people out, but I simply can’t be arsed with people who just seem to want to blow their own trumpet, divert threads or feel they have to respond on topics that they’re not qualified to comment on.

For what it’s worth, it’s no-one who’s posted on this thread as far as I can see from the lack of message.
