I have a Sako S20 (in.308) with 34mm scope rings in Medium. I’ve recently bought a SnB PMII which requires 34mm rings in High.
I was wondering if anyone knows if I can simply buy a Picatinny to Picatinny rail to lift the rings? My local gunsmith seems to this this won’t work and I should...

I recently fitted a Contessa rail to my 455. It fits and it appears to work just fine, however it’s a 452/455 compatible model that has an extended ejector port opening to suit the 452 that basically doesn’t ‘fit’ with the reduced geometry of the 455 model.

Convert a dovetail to picatinny without the need for drilling and tapping the receiver.

I am soon to be getting a .30-06 double rifle for night boar shooting and woodland/highseat stalking deer. In terms of scopes, I am thinking of using two. A Bushnell Trophy 1 - 4 x 28 IR XLT and a 4.5 x 42 Photon. I believe the double rifle has a picatinny rail if not then I will fit...
