Wildlife trusts are attempting to raise £30m to keep the Rothbury Estate from being split up.

If I was fortunate to have £30m to spare - giving any or all of it to a Wildlife Trust would be the last thing I would be doing.......
Their cunning plans will involve the following....
1) Kill all the deer "to allow regeneration"
2) Stop all shooting
3) Plant hundreds/thousands/millions of tress (delete where applicable).....which would mean....
4) release Beavers - to bring down the trees you've just planted!
5) Nature "friendly" farming only ie Do as we tell you or you lose your tenancy
6) create a lovely pathway network and visitor centre(s) to encourage more responsible (sic) access.
7) Run out of money - as the nature friendly farming doesn't pay, there's no shooting to bring money into the area and there's little or no wildlife to see......which leads to ....
8) Sell the land to someone else who can claim carbon credits/build windfarms/built a solar farm (delete where applicable).
