At the game dealers dropping off our pigeons, a Merc fridge van was full to the brim with trays of partridges.
I started doing the maths for what has been spent by the people shooting them!!

25 in a tray @ £25 quid per bird! We both agreed our days shooting was far more fun and would have cost £6850.00!! lol

The point I was making is whether it is 25/30/35 quid a bird just is seems a lot of money for a tray of birds when it is in front of you....
My price is based on a local shoot who charges £25.00 for a pheasant which is 3 times the size and eats a lots more grub than a red leg......

Thats still cheap shooting Tim £35 here inc VAT. However Pheasants go to wood at 7 weeks old, redlegs stay in verandas until at least 12 weeks old and are still on pellets to 15 weeks (pheas on wheat at ten weeks). All birds charged at same price on commercial shoots locally.
