Thanks for all the comments, the taxidermy was done by George Jamieson in Edinburgh, iv'e had a lot of stuff done by him always to a high standard, i wouldn't hesitate in recommending him

question then - if I wanted a similar job done, how should the deer be preserved prior to delivery at the taxidermist? how to cut/butcher..do you freeze? etc.

also, what sort of cost for a mounting job similar to this? approx...
