A Grallocher I cut from RWL34 ages ago, as a result it has been knocking around the workshop for far too long so I recently heat treated it, modified the shape, ground it, modified a tad more, handled it, modified it a bit more, and here it is...

... RWL34 blade steel as mentioned with Hunter Orange G10.

So on Monday I will be instigating a sheath being made for it...

I voted Kydex, however, as you will possibly recall, i am interested in a pair of knives, and the leather double sheath i thought really looked the danglies. Not suite so sure how they work with regards to hygeine though?

I am with Stuart on this one as the hygiene is with the user not the tool being used. When I was growing up (60's) the Sunday roast was carved with a steel bone handled knife (no plumed) in dishwasher.

Tim, I understand, and take your point.

My one and only personal experience (so far, planning on going out weekend after this one) of the gralloch, was a rather messy affair, primarily through my inexperience. I learnt a lot and hopefully as i gain experience it will be easier to maintain good hygiene without the need to carry a whole box of gloves and another of wipes!!!.

I started out with a folding pocket knife cleaning out rabbits in 72, work on small stuff the big stuff is easy. Buy that knife off Stuart game changer. or buy lots of gloves lol

Has to be leather for me I’m afraid, to match my P90, or maybe even a double for the P90 and this.

I can test it out for you while you make mine if you want Stu😉
