17hmr ammo

Bloody computers (or perhaps it's me) sending post before I had finished. CCI A 17 best in my Sako Quad and in my son's Anschutz - apparently originally intended and made for Savage. Difficult (and expensive) to get and Sportsman say no longer in the CCI catalogue - £82 per 200 box specially ordered and that apparently was a discounted price from £130 per box.

I have tried many Brands and weights and different types including BT's and HP's.
Generally stocks held by RFD's are so poor that I often have to buy what they have, rather than what I want.
But in general I can say the BT's are a little more accurate than the HP's.
If you, like my, shoot vermin quite close in with a .17HMR (Realistically I hunt at 40-70 Meters, in the dark, using Thermal and a red LED Torch) that small performance difference becomes irrelevant and therefore I opt for HP's to limit meat damage.
