We’ve arranged to go out for lunch on Saturday!! Hoping someone will cry off so we can rearrange. Wife is particularly irked as she is a fervent Scotland fan and will likely be wearing the saltire whilst we were out.Looking forward to the Italy v Scotland match on Saturday..........what could possibly go wrong with Scotland's charge to the Grand Slam........

@tackb I'll tell you a true story I think you'll appreciate...
My Mrs isn't a sport fan. No sport at all. Couldn’t tell you a team, player, any of it.
Couple years ago, your lot had beaten us. I'd taken it as well as usual....i can't remember why now but i felt wronged (whats new eh?) ever seen baby spitting it's dummy out?!
Fast forward few hours, we being our usual deviant selves, she turns looks over shoulder & says "how does it feel to be kissing an English woman's arse

I think Ireland aren't quite the team they have been in recent times. It didn't help that they have a few top players on the injury list. As did France, of course but France have more strength in depth. Ireland didn't have much penetration in attack, mainly due to a lack of pace. They were poor under the high ball too and fumbled things more than usual. You could see them moving the ball intelligently along the backs as they do, but just weren't zippy enough to make clean breaks. France did all those things well, which was really the story of the match. Ireland have struggled to successfully replace Sexton too.
As for France, they have been quietly improving as time has progressed and they are in with more than a shout of pinching the 6N title, if not a grand slam. Of course England will want to scupper those plans. As for Scotland, I think they've been slipping back of late, but can still compete with anyone on their day. Italy have been steadily improving and the match between the two will show us where those two teams are when that comes around. And it'd be nice to see Wales beginning to look a bit competitive, even if they can't get the results they want.
Rumour has it that this could be the last 6 Nations for Shaun Edwards in the French coaching setup and he could well be looking for a head coach berth. The Welsh would love to have him back, but there could well be an opening for him in England, if he could get on with the England hierarchy. Time will tell on that one I guess.
