204 or 22-250

Currently use a 223 but have got an itch for some thing else 22250 or 204 ruger; can anyone recommend which and why please and what make of rife please, doesn’t seem like many rifle makers chamber these two much anymore. Howa do but that’s it I think. Thanks

.22-250, main reason, its what I've used for 20 years, same rifle third barrel, quite sure most makers offer both chamberings. Something to consider would be local availability of ammunition and/or reloading supplies

Your right about bullet placement. It's why many buy the 22-250 shot placement less critical. 204 us like a scalpel inghe right hands

22250. Me and 3 mates have them. They make you smile more, and makes things deaderer.

It depends on what you are shooting. If it's fox then 204 is a brilliant round, if it's deer then something bigger will be required, possibly 243!

If either dont kill it not the chambering at fault.
Ive only shot 22,250.
If you ever think you might shoot cwd or munty in england or roe in scotland 22,250 is an easy choice.
If your bigest quarry is fox 204 sounds pretty sexy to me

I shoot both. Both kill foxes to 300 yards the same.
.204 dedicated night rifle for foxes and vermin
22.250 fox muntjac and scottish roe.
hit them wrong with either they dont die
If your not shooting distance keep your money and stick with 223

I’ve owned a .204 and accounted for hundreds and hundreds of foxes with it using 40grsin vmax’s, if you put the bullet in the right place you won’t go wrong and won’t find much asking for a follow up shot I can assure you that.

22-250 is again a excellent cartridge, if you plan on just taking fox I’d go with the .204 as it’s cheaper to load for with 25ish grain of powder over approaching 40 grain in the 22-250.

.204 can't beat it, point n shoot to 16 miles perfect for night shooting and only thing that's ran more than 6" was an elephant. 22-250 great but chuffin loud. That's why the elephant ran, it heard a 22-250 shot in France so moved at last minute.

I’ve got both, love the 204 but the 250 definitely hits harder, definitely had more runners with the 204 so I tend to take 250.

Currently got 223 204 20vartarg for fox control. 223 is very good. Mine are all sako.

Have used a 22-250 for a long time fantastic cartridge, gets the job done very well, if I were to choose now though I'd go for a 204 it's cheaper to run recoil is significantly lower it's very flat and devastating on foxes

Hit a fox with a 22-250 and it drops or doesn't go far

don’t see the point of a 22-250 unless you want to shoot deer then you may as well have a 243. 40grain vmax in a 204 will do everything you need
