Does go into a reloading press, they are then used to resize the case, either the whole body (full length) or just the neck, they remove the fired primer in the process. You then insert a new primer with an arm on the press or separate tool, accurately measure the powder charge and place it in the case. Once this is done you use the second die, a bullet seater, to seat the bullet to the required length.

If you are looking at reloading I would highly recommend this book, rather than relying on the internet.

Either set of Greg’s dies will achieve what is required but the more expensive set has a seating die that is more precise.

No worries.

It is a satisfying hobby within itself, and is almost guaranteed to shrink groups and increase the consistency of your rifle.

There is a bit of outlay on kit though and consumables are mores costly than they were. If you shoot a lot of rounds it makes sense, if you only shoot 10-20 a month and you’re happy with the accuracy, then less so. From an economic viewpoint at least.

I’d missed this! Thanks very much for taking the time to explain to the chap.

Both sets are still available.

Cheers
