Yes true, we cant buy it.Am I right in thinking that the 223 is banned in Spain because of it being a military chambering?

but its the same as the 22255 gr nosler but it pretty much shoots anything if I do my bit
That’s comparing apples to oranges . Typical 222 with 50 grain bullet is 3-3.2k where as the 250 with 50 grain will easily go 3.6-3.8k .do you notice a lot of difference between the 222 and the 22-250? Do they kill similar?
that’s more to do with twist rate than cartridge for the 22-250 at least. Think I’d go 22-250 AI, 1:7.5, just to be different!I’ll admit I have no experience with the 22-250, however, looking at data, I think if I ever get rid of my .223, I think I’ll go for a .22 creedmoor. The fact you can run a 80g bullet flatter than a 55g in a .223 or 22-250 is something special
So nothing in it then!Hornady data:
22 creedmoor: 100: 1.1” 200: 0” 300: -5.3” 400: -15.4 500: -31.1
22-250 55g vmax 100: 0.9 200: 0” 300: -5.1” 400: -15.8” 500: -33.9”
I thought the varmageddon range were all flat based bullets?Don't know where you got the Creed data since I cannot find any on Hornady website. Going by the 22-250 data, if you tweak the zero distance so that it's 1.1" high @100y, 22-250 is flatter past 400y. Even without tweaking it's flatter for the first 300 yards.
At 500y you can tip the scales in favor of 22-250 by changing to 55gr BT, or better yet more modern design (53gr V-Max or Varmageddon) yes they're not 55gr but more comparable to 80gr ELD.
With a twist rate to use a 69grn or heavier I would gladly shoot at 1k with my 22-250.The 22-250 wasn't designed for shooting 1000yds, that's like buying a 2 seater sports car and comparing the luggage capacity with that of a volvo estate.
That may be so, but like I said, that’s not what it was designed for. With a twist rate to use a 69grn or heavier I would gladly shoot at 1k with my 22-250.
