.223 moderator

Hi all

I'm looking for a new moderator for my .223. (Browning xbolt) and wondered what people's recommendations were? I'm looking for something that isn't too long or heavy and won't break the bank. Thanks in advance.

They are all (IMO) overpriced.
I like the 'over barrel' DPT with a stainless baffle in 20cal.

I have a dpt MK1 on my 243 that I thought about buying a new threaded section for so that I could use the same baffles but can't find them anywhere. Assuming the feo was happy with it of course.

To be honest they will all do a very similar job as far as sound suppression goes so I would base my choice on

Are you using it for range use with multiple shots in short succession?
Do you want over barrel to reduce forward length?
How important is low weight compared to price and longevity?

If you ask on here you'll get everyone recommend their own mod which hasn't gone wrong because it works just as well as any other.

In reality whats important is what fits your rifle, what is available locally without RFD postage costs and if you want to get something like an ASE Utra that will hold up to heavy range use and outlast your barrel or something much lighter that will need replacing or won't keep up with multiple shots.

It would get no range use other than zeroing and will only have limited use on muntjac during the summer so weight, length and price are the most important factors

Call DPT on 07448 177009 Bill will sell you a new threaded section.
As long as you have permission to possess on your FAC, the FEO will be happy.
