Yes. There's lots all over the country.
But not everyone lambs this early, and not everyone lambs outdoors.
I was thinking of Ben's system in particular, as that is what you were asking about. If I remember correctly, he posted a week or so back saying that his flock were now all housed in preparation for lambing.
If he's anything like me, he'll be fully focused on caring for the flock indoors for a while now, and spend very little time in the fields until the sheep start getting turned out again in March, at which point he'll take his rifle on his daily rounds. Makes perfect sense.
If his ewes were outdoors with lambs in February then no doubt he'd have his rifle with him in February.

Sure, but carrying a rifle about all day indoors is more of a hindrance than a help.

Why only carry the rifle from 1st March , surely there's corvids about in Feb too

Exactly, but crows didn't fancy coming any closer!

I've hardly a moment to scratch my head at the minute never mind dedicated time to shooting. When I start turning lambs out I'll spend more time checking in field. At minute I've only got cull ewes replacement ewes lambs & the tups outside. Whizz round fast as can to finish prepping for lambing.
