There is a north west custom parts competition Gen 1 on UK Varminting. Good rifle. I was its original owner. The current owner has had it up a while. Very reliable with a decent level of accuracy.

I'm loving my Tippmann M4-22. Went into West Sussex guns as they had a few makes and models. I basically wanted to pick up a few and feel the quality.

They had a wide variety from the cheap 15-22, to the Tippmann, and a Lantac.

I handled them all and walked out with a Tippmann, despite not even intending to buy one that day.

Felt up there in quality with the rest of them, and being a gen 3 means it's basically compatible with pretty much everything.

Don't discount the kriss dmk22, I'd own that or a tippmann over a lantac any day.

Ive got 4 guys I shoot with at least twice a month and they've all had issues, super fussy with ammo, failures to extract, titanium firing pins breaking, one guy has had 4 in 4 years.

When they're clean and you've got the right ammo they're fantastic but for the price I'd expect better.

Lantac are also a nightmare to deal with which would put me off as well.

I have a pair of Lantac Raven's, absolutely brilliant rifles once dialled in but I too can attest that if you have any form of issue, Lantac's customer service is non-existent and if you persist, you can expect a tirade of abuse from the CEO.

I first purchased a 16" second hand. I ammo tested with all sorts (of subs), but they are specifically designed for CCI and so it turned out that CCI Small Game were both lovely and cheap and the best, comfortably delivering 1-2MOA at 50m. Accuracy has been sublime for 50m Light Sporting Rifle but probably 500 rounds in and I started to experience a lot of jams. I tried all sorts and in the end a Bore Buddy hardened extractor and premium firing pin finally fixed the issues and bar the very occasional jam since, the rifle has performed faultlessly and won me several LSR/Gallery competitions.

Having M.E. and struggling with holding the weight of the 16" I decided to order a new 12.5" for the ~400g saving, despite the reports of poor Lantac customer service including direct experience of one of my Club Secretary's who was so appalled with the way they treated him, he sent the rifle back. The rifle took just over 4-months to arrive and when it arrived, I noted they had changed the Mlok hole configuration in the handguard, inexplicably not cutting the last hole closest to the magazine well. My LSR shooting style involves resting the base of the magazine in the palm of my left hand with a hand grip mounted directly in front of the magazine well sitting on my fingers, allowing the left elbow to be tucked firmly into the side giving an incredibly stable position. When I dared to question why they changed the design / hadn't cut the last Mlok slot raising that the rifle had been purchased specifically for LSR competition and without that slot, it was effectively useless to me, the issue was immediately passed to whom turned out to be the CEO whose interchanges were nothing short of extraordinarily bad and resulted in him apparently adding me to the Lantac server block list for undertaking what he erroneously referred to as 'review terrorism'. You really couldn't make it up. A good friend has since used his CNC machine to cut the missing Mlok hole so I've been able to use. However, I'm 400-rounds in and it is still jamming persistently. I've just ordered another Bore Buddy hardened extractor and premium firing pin and we'll see if that resolves again. With accuracy for an AR platform rifle so good, it's a price I'm (just about) willing to pay, I certainly wouldn't buy new direct from Lantac again though.

Have a look at calibre innovations, Full metal upper and lower with bore buddy internals if I recal, not cheap but not loads more then a new S&W mp22 these days

If you end up with a milspec AR and want a cheap and effective trigger upgrade, I've got a drop in Timney impact AR to sell shortly!

Still looking, will buy new at some point as I’ve now begun my local rifle club membership,
Could do a deal on a Unique Alpine UPG in 6.5 Creedmore, cash either way

Not looking for anything other than full mill spec , as I may at some point buy a 223 upper ,
Ammunition is getting very expensive now so shooting a mouse cartridge makes sense again!
