.22LR Barrel face damage

If you are getting light strikes, first place i would look would be firing pin, is it damaged? Also as you said the rifle was very dirty, ensure the firing pin channel in the bolt is clean, get it in there with a small pipe cleaner and plenty of solvent or drop the bolt in an ultrasonic cleaner.

After that I would be looking at trigger. Judging by the trigger blade I can see in the background of one of the photos its something after market, do you know what trigger it is?

Easiest way to diagnose a trigger issue would be to have a friend with an AR15 type rifle aswell. Put your upper on their lower, if the issue goes away, its likely your trigger

Hi mate, the light or no strikes are from not being fully into battery but i agree with the sentiment, the firing pin is like new so not going to be the issue

Since my last outing i have thoroughly cleaned the BCG including the firing pin channel

The trigger is an rise armament advanced performance trigger, I have a Gieselle 3 gun trigger to try on the off chance its trigger related but im still thinking its the BCG
