.243 Advice please

Thanks Guys, repeating what others have already stated but I can definitely recommend Steve, excellent advice and he really gave me lots of time considering it was his day off! There was no pressure to buy, ended up between a new Mauser M12 Impact and a lightly used Sauer 202 Outback, really liked the Mauser but I didn't like the safety operation as much , So I purchased the Sauer and really happy with it. Steve even kindly let me use his range afterwards to zero my new setup.

Thanks again for all your input!

Congrats on the new toy! :) You just need to get out and christen it now.

Glad you had a good experience at Ivythorn as well, not that I had any doubt it would be otherwise! Steve is a great bloke and having been up there a few times myself I can only echo your comments. I'd highly recommend him to anyone who'll listen to me ramble on haha :D

As and when I purchase a new gun I know exactly where I'll be heading, its worth the drive up any day of the week IMHO.

You could get a decent sako which many believe is the most accurate rifle out the box such as an 85 or a even a sauer but you would be lucky to find a really decent one under £1500.

I have a Bergara B14 synthetic in .243, its great. Very slick action with a DPT mod on its still light. I spent a lot of money on a full custom .308 and although its great too I think the Bergara is very good indeed. Everyone who has tried it has been very surprised at how slick it is for the money. Definitely worth a look.
