.243.

The bullets are black.
I’ve never seen black vmax!
Ken.
I think the bullets will be these:

I think you’re right.
Thanks, Ken.

Not really. Quite a few on here shoot at targets regularly

I don’t . The only time a target is used is for a small zero session
You misunderstand my comment. My meaning was that, when shooting at deer, I hope we all try to make it one-shot-one-deer matter. Shooting at targets is a good way to help that happen, of course.

Now that is interesting….

Now that makes me do some thinking...

Don't get me wrong, i love the Sako Blade in my .270, hence it was the first ammo to try in the .243, but they weren't up for the job.
I put them through a Garmin chrono at first, and after seeing the poor results, i borrowed my mate's FX for the avoidance of doubt. They barrely pushed 1500 ft/lbs !

I think the V-Max bullets age. I don't use them often and I can remember them having red tip originally IIRC and not as dark. Reckon these are 30 years old! Brought back from a trip to Hill AFB, Utah..................
Those are that colour because they are Moly coated.
Cheers, Ken.

Thanks for the figure's Shootgun. I don't possess a chrono.

I really wouldn’t worry about it and would happily use them. Wether your getting 1400ftlb or 2500ftlb would have very little bearing on the efficacy, since they are a mono they will expend a tiny fraction of that energy on the deer and the majority of it on your backstop.

The rifle ive got is 1-8 twist, so tight, I zeroed the other day at 120 yards and got a 1.5" group with 55gr hornaday. Not in the best conditions either
