.270 brass suggestions.

I’m reloading .270 currently using norma brass but it’s taking a lot of primer pocket uniforming. Is anyone else having issues with norma brass or have any suggestions for something better?

What do you mean by primer pocket uniforming - depth, diameter? Is it for function or performance gains?

Yeah, it’s a standardised reamer that takes any access metal out of the primer pockets so that the primers seat properly and don’t protrude out from the cases. It’s more for a function and safety aspect than performance.

I normally use lapua brass which only occasionally needs work but the norma brass that I got is taking a lot of work.

Do you mean the Web(?) is being distorted by firing, so you have to deepen the primer pocket?

I’ve used Norma brass for years in .270 and never once used a primer pocket uniformer.

Norma is top quality brass.

I use plenty of Winchester brass for my .270. When it gets old I just buy another batch from a member here who sells it 'Once Fired'.
Never had a problem with it in any way let alone primer pockets troubles.

Magtech large primers with an RCBS hand squeeze seater which seats the same primers perfectly in my lapua creedmore brass.

Very strange. Have you done any measurements of the depth of the pockets? If it’s new brass I’d be tempted to get in touch with Norma. After all it’s not cheap brass and it should be within spec.

You won't go wrong with cheap ppu tried many always gone back to PPU it reloads time and time again .
Another selling point drop one in the grass you won't be grubbing around crying
