.270 factory loads

Which of the commonly available .270 factory loadings would people recommend?

For hill reds and Perthshire fallow. I'm not terribly bothered by meat damage (within reason). Looking for something that is maximally effective at putting them down promptly.

Shooting ranges averaging around 180m, but out to 300 possible.

Shooting unmoderated from 24" barrel.

All suggestions really appreciated.

130 federal, 130 rem core lokt, 130 rem accutip (bit harsh on roe, reds ok). 140 geco seem ok but not shot many red with them yet .

i need to use lead free on the west coast now, either going to use gmx or Norma Kalahari 120s. Ranger.. How do you rate gmx? A mate of same profession is using his favourite Norma Kalahari.

Hornady 140 grain SST work well in my winchester 270

Federal Power shok 130gr. Great round.

I have tried Hornady 130gr SST's and didnt like them at all. They grouped fine but I found the round to be too fast, wouldn't exit on shoulder shot fallow bucks and led to a lot of runners, whereas the federals tend to drop them with shoulder shots.

+1 for the RWS 130 but also got good groups with Fed 150.

Plain old Hornady Interlock 150-gr or Remington Core Lokt 150-gr.

Inexpensive ( $19.95 in the USA, $16.95 on sale, accurate, good velocity (2,850 to 2,900 fps), great penetration and weight retention. I use them, and reload these and the Remington 150-gr RN, and they have killed 400 lb bears and boars in their tracks.

I have found the Federal Premium,or, whatever slick marketing name they now call it, .270Win-150NP ammo to be excellent and prefer the heavier premium bullet for BC as we have Elk, Moose, and Deer available on the same hunt.

I load much the same in my .270s, 150 NPs over RE-22 and have used these exclusively for about 25 years, never had an animal go more than a few yards before dropping.

RWS t-mantle 130 grn work well , accurate and good knock down.

Another vote for the PPU , I use the 130's tiny groups and no knock down problems.
