Looking for a new home for my 2-year-old male (entire) KC Working Cocker Spaniel.

He is a very soft-natured dog with a lovely temperament — great with children, strangers and other dogs, and he currently lives happily around cats. He is well behaved in the house and an absolute pleasure to have around. He also makes an excellent pub dog, happily sitting quietly under the table.

Training-wise, he has:
• Excellent recall
• Sit/stay, including at distance
• Responds to both whistle and hand signals for sit/stay
• Keen natural retrieve
• Improving confidence over obstacles
• Beginning to gain confidence in water

He is eager to please and enjoys interaction and engagement.

He is quite a sensitive dog and does not respond well to harsh handling, so he would suit a calm, patient owner. He has shown some sensitivity to gunfire, so at this stage I would place him as a pet or active companion rather than a finished working dog, although this may improve with time and the right approach. Unfortunately, I do not have the time or experience to continue developing him in this area.

This is not an easy decision, and finding the right home is far more important than a quick sale. I genuinely believe he will, as a minimum, make a fantastic companion; with the right trainer he could be an excellent beating or picking-up dog.

Looking for £1,000. Gloucestershire based.
