Really excited but OMG!!! FFS!!! FTFO!!! YMBFJ!!! Arrrhhhh!!!

Having a rifle disaster with the 375 h&h. Got it back from Brock & Norris with a couple of days to sort it out. Had the leupold bases and rings sitting and put the Illuminated Duralyt on it yesterday GREAT!!!

4 rounds into playing it's zeroed and grouping like a babe inch but then at 12 it starts throwing massively by like 8 inches.... OK the rifle's really hot but I know it's shooting cold to warm so I'll pack in and go home. At home I spent time sorting out the AI mag to make it a tighter fit and felt a tiny movement in the scope so I check it and the rear leupold ring had sheared off the bases locking screws! Recoil or what bitches!! So my choice was to put on the weaver rail back on and a 1x holographic that's tried and tested or take the .308 that is my baby with the illuminated Duralyt that is a devastating combo...

It's going to be the 308... gutted and going to cry, 150 grain is not the same joygasm as 300 grain. But hey, it's all good ... MOOOSEY

Well mate lets hope its a good Jam record. The Bitterest Pill being a favourite of mine.

Ive got a rite big suitcase going on, has anybody managed to get it all in a bergen ?

Seems the troops are all a bit reserved on this one... nowt wrong with grown men being excited :)

Yes, Looking forward to it!

Haven't tried to get the gear in a suitcase yet, still waiting for it to dry out after scrubbing the crud off it yesterday :)

yes... ammo in a locked box. A cash box is fine from tesco etc but get a big one as the bolt will probably have to go in it. A better box is an aluminium electricians carry box which has more space and is padded. My top tip is though wrap your ammo and bolt in socks or a little hand towel so it doesn't rattle.

Sometimes airlines allow ammo to simply go in check in bags so long as they are locked but it's best not to take any chances.

Mmmmm got a real large suitcase and managed to fill it while trying to be conservative :(

Maybe im over doing it

I have had use a large-ish suitcase as well, doesn't take long to fill by the time you have got a pair of size 12 boots, an F-B size Jacket and trousers and enough fleece layers as well as a change of normal clothes. Just hope there is room on the minibus from the airport

it'll be fine, cramped perhaps but fine... I keep trying to explain to guys to leave the hairdryers and gay stuff at home, there will be plenty of that at the cabin... they're Finish...

Just a tip guys the Bolt Rifle and Ammo need to be splitt up into three diff bags and all would normally go into the Hold,, have you informed the Airline? I know some Airlines will not Fly without advance warning,,

Wish i was coming with You:cry:

Have a great trip!
I wait for the report and tons of pics!
We are off to Finland on the Whitetails strating on the 14th, hopefully still not that cold...:scared:

moose hunting in finland

Hang on too your money boys and wait to read the write ups.

Totally disappointing set up and a complete shambles.

Great if you want to pay 35 Euros for prawn cuppa soup though......................

Tell it as it was mate but tell the truth about the good points too, do remember that the 2 day hunt though is a club ground hunt in southern Finland not Lapland run by hunters that many of which have hunted the ground for 20+ years and the waiting list to become a member is decades because it usually involves the death of a member! Being a guest is a bit of a privilege in honesty.. not the same setup as how our hunt was done.

Where we were and the two day hunt is not the same hunt or hunting ground as we were at in Lapland up at the Russian border 400 miles apart. I hope those going on the two day trip get the same experience and quality of hunt I had when I was there last year. It's maybe best to start a new thread or post on the three day one so as to keep it fair. A moose was shot and a bull shot at, another opportunity was passed on that many of us would empty a mag on but while we didn't get a good show and there's a lot of things to be said, it wasn't a con and I'm not looking for cash back because the experience and company while we missed the cherry on top was great. Top lads... even the Northern Monkies
