.30 moderator on .222 ?

How effective would a .30 moderator be when fitted on a .222 ?

Perfectly sufficient. I use a 6.5 on my 223 & 243.
If you’re after max attenuation them a calibre specific would better.

As above - I used an Utra .308 mod on my .222 for years (still use it on my 6.5 and .308) then bought a Stalon (again in .308) which gets a lot of use - without muffs on the .222 unless at the range.

I have used a 30 cal mod on my 222 and it certainly works to a degree but with a calibre specific mod It was noticeably better and I Definitely would recommend that as a preference

Works, but a tighter calibre to bore tolerance is by far the most effective way to increase sound attenuation

I use a my 7mm mod which is a .30 cal one on my .223 and I doubt you could tell the difference between a .223 one and the .30 cal one

I use a 30 cal T8 on my .17 rem and it works very well indeed.

I Sellotape an empty toilet roll onto the end of my barrel and defy anyone to tell me it makes a difference.
