My son has a Hardy moderator that has been used for several years on .243 Sauer 202 I noticed yesterday that the baffles appear to be badly 'corroded/ eroded' . Does this pose a safety issue if he continues to use ? It obviously needs replacing , but Variations in Hampshire are very slow and we wonder if it would be best to wait for the deregulation to arrive . Any thought or advice please ?

if just the baffles its not usually a safety issue but can impact accuracy and will impact the sound attenuation.
Waiting for deregulation may be a long wait in my opinion
