Apologies in advance for the bit of a rant here, but its pretty frustrating when a supplier such as Blackwood no doubt spends quite "a few Bob" getting front page on a Google search, likewise the costs of advertising & promotions elsewhere in essence prompting themselves as market leaders in field of Thermal imaging. They have obviously also spent good money on a decent website with plenty of info within, however when they don’t pick up the phone after numerous attempts on varying days, likewise no voicemail or Answermachine the phone eventually rings dead, even after then going to the trouble of filling the website enquiry form unfortunately a week or so later still no response!! Its then time to call it a day and accept all was a complete waste of My valuable time.
Honestly have no idea why would you spend money & time promoting yourself and then not back up with the resource to service the same? I am surely not alone has a complete novice to Thermal and with the now vast arrear of options I wished to talk to someone get some decent advice, my quest was never one of "penny pinching" on price, but to get some direction and hopefully good advice to procure the right unit for my needs. I eventually called R Macleod & son was immediately put through to a guy named Toby. Toby ran through the type of hunting I did, he asked various questions as well as listening to my specific request for a compact model to slip in my jacket pocket as opposed to hanging round my neck, that position is still very much reserved for the Binos. We kicked around the budget and Pro's/con's on some units, eventually settling on the Hikmicro Condor CQ35L-LRF, Toby kindly also offered a bit of discount on list price. Cutting to the chase, I was impressed enough to order, the hand held was promptly delivered the very next day. The advice looks to have been be spot on, the Hikmirco although only as yet utilized on a few occasions looks to fit my remit perfectly. I am delighted with both the device & the excellent service provided by Toby on behalf of R Macleod & Son.
Credit were Credit is due to R McLeod & son. Perhaps ongoing the likes of Blackwood should consider spending a little less on the advertising and more on the Customer resource going forward.
I am now in the hunt for a Moderator for my Sauer 202 in .308, yet another area i know "bugger all" about, however will try resist the urge to click on the top of the page in Google !
