The Range XP is built on Weatherby’s newest bolt action rifle platform, the Model 307. The Model 307 action is a 2-Lug, fully cylindrical action compatible with many aftermarket accessories. Model 307 is designed to accommodate the vast offerings of stocks, triggers, rails, mounts, and magazines that exist in today’s marketplace. The Range XP is a shooter-friendly platform that can dominate the shooting range or the mountain range.

A custom rifle feel, without the custom price​

Through years of innovation and testing, the Model 307 action features a bolt that was designed to have a tool-less disassembly which allows hunters and shooters to easily field strip their bolt if needed. The bolt is equipped with an M16 style extractor for positive extraction and reliable ejection. The Range XP comes standard with an externally adjustable TriggerTech Field trigger. The Range XP comes with a Magpul removable magazine and is compatible with AICS magazines.

Featuring a lightweight vertical grip stock that includes an adjustable cheekpiece and adjustable length of pull providing a custom fit for the shooter. Touch points are textured for a nonslip grip and dual front swivel studs allows for multiple accessories.

Available in short and long actions, the Range XP not only offers some of Weatherby’s historic magnum cartridges but is available in a wide range of the most popular cartridges on the market today.

Range XP is compatible with many after-market 700® platform parts, making it the most open platform in the Weatherby line-up. With an upgraded adjustable stock, trigger, bolt, fluted barrel, and Accubrake, the Range XP brings a custom rifle feel, without the custom price. • Sub MOA Accuracy All Model 307 rifles are guaranteed to shoot a 3-shot group of .99″ or less at 100yards (SUB-MOA) from a cold barrel with premium ammunition within two years of purchase date.
• TriggerTech Trigger: TriggerTech’s Trigger provides true creep break, extremely short over-travel, and is externally adjustable (down to 2.5lbs). Precision cut stainless steal components ensure consistent trigger pulls from shot to shot in a safe, reliable, and corrosion resistant package.
• Tool-less Bolt Takedown: the model 307 showcases an all-new 3 piece bolt design, featuring a completely tool-less takedown.
• Spiral fluted Barrel: The precision spiral flutes shave weight, add rigidity, and aid in the cooling of the barrel. This makes the Alpine MDT the perfect rifle for shot-after-shot accuracy.
• Accubrake: come with an improved Accubrake with suppressor ready universal threads. Efficient radial design helps to evenly disperse gas and reduce felt recoil by up to 53%.

The Weatherby range of rifle have a lot of nice features. They are really trying to give Tikka a run for the money with the little extra’s like the Trigger Tech trigger, they are a nice sweetener.

The 307 shares a footprint with the Remi 700 (though it is a completely different action) - meaning that it can be used in any stock/chassis designed for the 700.
