Wanted: 30mm lapping bar

I finally managed to get the rings I was after, secondhand, but they are a bit mangled and I need to clean them up before I risk them on my scope.

Does anyone have a 30mm lapping bar I could borrow? I’m in the CB1 area.

Go to engineer shop get a piece of 30mm bar drill a hole one end fit a handle of a old chisel or screwdriver
a lot cheaper than buying one

It's a Kimber 84m with Leupold standard bases. The rings are hard to come by in the height I want, so when a second hand pair came up I bought them.

Ideally, you need the full kit, and not just the lapping bar.

If you do this wrap the action in cling film which will help keep the compound out of the action, (just like you mask a car for spraying)
By the nature of gravity and pressure then you "will" take out more on the bottom ring than the top, if the twit in the video had turned the rifle over then that would have made for more of an even cut.

Ideally, you need the full kit, and not just the lapping bar.

Mine are the windage adjustable ones, so the alignment checker wouldn’t achieve anything. I’m mostly after something just to clean up the slight marring on one ring.

Appears Talley do dedicated rings for your action.
If its Leupold bases then Burris should make a set to fit and correct high.

It’s this arrangement. Wasn’t aware Burris make rings that would work. I’ll take a look.
