53gn Vmax vs 52gn ELD-M

The 53gr V-Max is a longer bullet and requires a 1-8” twist although there are exceptions where anecdotal reviews have been made where they work in 1-9” twist barrels.

The 52gr ELD is shorter and work through 1-12” twist.

I use the 53gr V-Max in a 1-8” twist tikka T3 24.7gr N133.

Yes I did the same in my 9 inch twist 223, but when the recommended twist is 8 or faster I don't waste money on experiments in futility.

Fair enough, it’s shorter than 75 gr a-max which also shot well in my 1:9.

So what would be the longest bullet you guys recommend for a 1 in 14 twist 22-250? Something flat based perhaps? Like the 55 Vmax or 52 varmageddon?

50 grn Vmax , i doubt you shoot a 55 grn but try it

My tikka will happily shoot 55grain vmax. You'll get a 60grain soft point to stabilise fine as well.
Don't try the 53grain vmax as there longer than the 55grain.
