6.5CM Load Testing. Help with Analysis Please !

Did you compare the colour of the active part of the primer ?

They can be quite distinctive.
I tried your suggestion. Dismantled a 32 grain round that came with the rifle. Sure enough I found that it didn’t match CCI (400’s and 450’s looked the same though) definitely wasn’t Fiocci (spelling?) or Remington as they are brass coloured. Verdict Federal 205 match.
So while not infallible as the CCI look the same between brands there’s a distinct difference.

Friend had a lot of pierced/blown or heavily cratered primers with his Bergara B14 6.5 Creedmoor using SRP brass.

Bergara advised a change to LRP as they didn't recommend SRP.

From what we could find out it's down to the size of the firing pin hole in the bolt face and has since been altered by Bergara.

That may well be applicable to Bergara but is not a generalisation for all other manufacturers where SRP gives excellent results. It depends entirely on the firing pin size and whether the gap around the pin is large enough to allow the primers to flow into it.

For anything but soft loads, thicker cup sizes, meaning magnum primer cups, are needed with SRP in 6.5CM as ordinary SR primers will pop much sooner, not being rated for the 62KPI SAAMI chamber pressures of CM.

The OP mentions 160 Vhit. Personally I think it's a little too slow burning for 140's or lighter, others may have found different. Having tried RS62, I wouldn't use anything else now. It's almost made for 6.5CM in anything from 100 gr to 140gr with superb results.

Precision Rifle Blog research showed that best jump for 147Gr ELDM was around 0.060 (for Bartlein 26 inch, 1:8)
More Bullet Jump Research!
Quote: "...regardless of the shooter, order the shots were fired in, or the specific load used, there appears to be a sweet spot around 0.060” of bullet jump".
Is 80 thou too far?

Interesting. Many thanks.

The 2.283" ogive, would be roughly a 0.050" jump. The top middle group looked promising, but was showing pressure, with a heavy ejector impression on the case, so to be honest, I discounted it.

Now I'm thinking to go back, but drop the powder right down, and work back up again

Some loads are just SO easy to find, and others can just be a 🤬 😂
