Picked up my new build today from James at "Jaeger SA" its a 7mm PRC on a Sako action. Couldn't make up my mind to Cerocoat or not as its a stainless barrel on a black action. Decided to leave it for now as it looks pretty good.
Ordered a Rail from Alan Rhone, and have a Hensholdt scope to drop in the 34mm rings. I'm going to use my Ase mod which is magnum proofed. Got new brass and some bullets so can build some rounds up to bed in and zero. Any advice on load data and large or magnum primers would be appreciated.
Will keep an update.

Ordered the rail from Alan Rhone at 1700 hrs yesterday and it arrived at 1100 hrs today.
Wow what service from Alan Rhone and the post office.
He can't be beaten, quite long time ago I was needed action screw for my s&l went on the phone with him about 3pm and I was shocked when it was handed to me by post man just after 1pm next day and completely foc. And I am in NI as many other dealers can't be bothered to post anything.

Agreed !!!!!!

Up date.

This is a rifle for hunting not target work.

First the spec:

Sako Aiii: originally a .300 Win Mag
Barrel: 24" Pendragon Precision heavy sporter
Mod: Ase SL7i ( magnum proofed)
Scope: Hensoldt 6-24x72
Rings: 34mm Third eye.

The rifle was built by James Clark of "Jaeger SA" Once he had the barrel in stock he was on it, the wait including waiting for it proofing was quite acceptable.
His workmanship is excellent as many others will testify.
His prices cannot be beaten either.

Bedding in was the usual shoot one clean one for five shots then again shoot two clean one and so on.

Still testing loads.
Most of my rifles like Barnes. Not this one, I went for the LRX as I felt a heavier bullet would be best. I was wrong groups of 2"was the norm.
The best load was Yew Tree TLR 130 GR. Ispoke to Richard who is always more than helpfull and this is what he recommended.
I found the best powder is Vhit N165 But I do have some of the N565 to try. I started with10 thou off LANs and the best loads were 62 and 63.5 gr of N165.
The results are more than good enough for me so I might just stick to this recipe.

I must give a big thanks to James at "Jaeger SA" and Richard at Yew Tree.

I need to get out Stalking now and will update with the results.

Cheers Steve.IMG_4708.jpegIMG_4706.jpeg
