My prediction from the beginning, lead free will bring back larger calibres. If lead free becomes law, I'll build a 16" barreled one.
With a 300+ grain copper bullet... will need to eat more porridge!![]()

Why not push the boat out and get a .510 Whisper? That's deer legal in England whilst remaining subsonic.
No, I think you can be pretty confident of that. It would need to be made on a large action. A donor action in .338 Lapua or .416 Rigby would keep things simple. I keep looking at it and thinking about it, but the use of it would be very limited and it may be too pointless even for me to try!Pretty sure it won’t fit in my Q Fix.
Do you still need a cleaning rod or will a yard brush do?Why not push the boat out and get a .510 Whisper? That's deer legal in England whilst remaining subsonic.
Just put your arm in...Do you still need a cleaning rod or will a yard brush do?
Wouldn't surprise me. Just look at all those 243W in Scotland that are facing the prospect of 100gr non-lead bullets. I know in theory there's that Edinburgh Rifles / Peregrine have that is supposed to shoot in 1:10 twist .243W but not so great if your rifle doesn't like that bullet...My prediction from the beginning, lead free will bring back larger calibres.
