A Boatload of Fish

I really don't see any need to justify your fishing exploits.
Quite right MJ75 (and finnbear). Occasionally I get 'defensive', but that's rarely called-for or effective.

And I appreciate that.

Really my primary motivation is to share what those of us with 'hunter's hearts' are doing around the world. Not so much "on safari" some place, but rather what we do "at home".

We in Europe have much to learn from the way you in Alaska safeguard your fisheries. I too have no worries about your fishing methods, I just don't like fish that much.

I do however like fishing, fly fishing in particular, there is an aesthetic balance to it that pleases me. But I have great respect for people who can shrimp and worm effectivly, they know the river, its currents and formation. I practise it whenever I can.

People are inclined to "bite" in the UK when they see large hauls of wild atlantic salmon, as they are a very scarce resource here. We, as a community, are promoting catch and release to try and safeguard our remaing stocks. The balance of nature in your rivers is much different to ours, and long may your fish runs remain healthy.

I didnt expect that many fish!

Nice boat, would be perfect for river pike fishing(I think you call them northerns over there) :)

The Midwesterners do, we call 'em pike up here.

Jim is a pike-fishing freak, and you're right, it's a great 'pike boat'. He and I use this boat extensively for pike fishing.

Paul
