How’s everyone’s Salmon fishing season going ?

I’m on Two Salmon for the season thus far one from the North Esk and another from Tweed both Fresh Run fish but not caught in the Spring Period sadly.
The rivers are not producing what I’d of expected for the time of year but Salmon are in decline as we all know and the rivers are on the ar*e due to the weather

October 2023 to October 2024 was one of the wettest seasons I can recall here in NE Scotland; since that time though it’s been rather drier and warmer than many other years. A lot of private water supplies in Grampian are teetering on the edge of seasonal failure owing to the dry winter and exceptionally dry spring. Apart from a couple odd splashes of rain, the rivers are both receding and warming up.

Hello, If you ever fancy a change of scene Salmon fishing, Look up the Moy at Ballina, Although closed now due to water temp it should be ideal later in year, I also fished the river Brusna for Brown trout

I was fishing up in Wester Ross a couple of weeks ago, and not a fish was seen by our party, despite some useful rain.

Somewhat annoyingly, one of my neighbours here at home was fishing the Oykel the same week and there were 60 fish caught, with my neighbour catching five of them!

Lets hope it doesn't end up like English Salmon fishing ! You kept what we called river boards and of course we gave the biggest poulter control ! I took my last Salmon a good double on the day i was moving to my present home be about 12-13 years ago . Those same rivers are now are really only fished for course fish or stocked trout

The rivers are low and temp is high. The freshets are not staying long enough to make a difference. I’m on findhorn and Spey next week. Not that hopeful.

Oh nice, what beat you on for the Findhorn ? I’m go to the Findhorn AA Beat on mon n possibly tues depends how it goes. Not that hopeful myself tbh

Pollachaig Monday, lethan estate Tuesday and Forres aa Wednesday if the rain comes.

Poacher?

sorry but i cannot fathom the connection to poachers or poaching in my post ? However let me state in the 70s , 80s and nineties there where poachers on the rivers in my areas and they made a fair old amount of cash doing it . Now ? I suspect incredibly few or none at all , the rewards are too slim to cover expenses

Its dyslexia a good proportion of the planet has it , helps with somethings Einstein had it in heaps and it helps with lots of things but it means you need to suffer fools gladly now and again

I think he means polluter - as in the water companies who take out so much clean water & then allow untreated sewage to enter from storm water ‘overflows’ because they don’t invest in the infrastructure to handle the waste that increases in population generate.

As for ripping the guy for being dyslexic there’s nothing I can say on here without getting put on the naughty step except grow up!

I wasnt talking about his spelling, i cant spell.
I was talking about entire comments.
It was also before he spoke of dyslexia
