A favorite little Remington of mine

I built this rifle over a decade ago. I guess OVERbuilt would be a better way to describe it. But it has since become one of my favorite rifles of all time, and has sent countless varmints to their maker.

Heavy on the Varmints

Action	Remington 700 (1980’s vintage)
Caliber	.223 Wylde chamber (throated for 75gr ELDM)
Barrel	20-inch Krieger Match 1.3-inch straight taper 12 flute
Twist Rate	1 in 7.7 twist
Muzzle Threads	⅝-24 TPI

Scope Base Rail	EGW 20 MOA

Unfortunately the venerable 700 seems to have fallen out of favour as a base for a build in resent times.

My favourite Rem 700 just 0.020" bigger takes care of these... customized the cheek weld with a slice of hard foam and tec black gaffer tape.
Std 6lb trigger break, plastic stock, garden cane sticks.

Yes, because there are so many other better options. If I was to redo this project today, I'd probably use a Tikka.

Thanks! it runs pretty good, with my favorite 75gr loads I typically get around 2800fps.
