A first for me.

Yeah, thinking I got an albino sambar or something? No not anywhere near as interesting, however this morning I took my first pics of a Spotted Pardalote pair. After observing for some time I found their nest burrow also. Chuffed...Pics are only ok but i`m happy enough. I will go back. You may be surprised to learn that the SP`s will burrow a metre of more into a bank for a nest site, yes that tiny little bird.

On the way home I saw a Maned Goose (duck) leading her flappers away from me.

Hi John

Pretty coloured and looking bird they are.
As for the ducks - the crocs that you are growing in the reservoir/creek let them escape?

20 years ago I would think about running those flappers down, then take home fatten on a grain diet then scoff them...mmmmmm

Hi John

Corn fed for sure can't be beaten.

Just about any soaked grain is good, mmmm I can taste them now.
Full pluck then cut off neck at body, remove neck skin like a sock.
Sew or skewer one end then stuff with venison, pork and some bacon, onions and whatever you like. The neck skins stretch and you can make ripping fat snags. Skewer the end then cook over coals on a wire grill....mitt beer!
