A heart warming New Year tale where the pikies lost!

That got your attention!

Here in Glenshee we have a very active Whatsapp group...a virtual neighbourhood watch group. We have about 80 folk on it.

About 8.30 pm on the 30th, one of the members...the founder in fact...spotted some miscreants attempting to steal diesel. The fiery cross was sent round via Whatsapp! The busys were summoned! Within minutes the glen was mobilised, the ends and exits were covered, trucks at roadends etc. New tyre tracks in the snow showed where the hoors had been....quite a few places. In Glenshee and Glenisla.

The bobbies spotted the pikies and a contact was made between their vehicle and the rozzers vehicle. The pikies attempted to evade capture by driving through a garden, but were soon caught up with, chased down Glenisla, Kingoldrum eventually to be cornered by several police cars and a 'stinger' in Glamis.

3 detained! 'Travelling criminals' according to the police press release!! The sad reality is that they will probably get more for traffic offences than theft but at least its one for the good guys! If you haven't got one of these Whatsapp groups going....get one. Especially here the members...keepers, farmers etc see all!

Happy New Year!

Read it in the Courier headlines but it didn’t have access to the full story.
Great result, wish the Neighbourhood Watch all the the best and hope the local Plod gets more results like that.

The Tony Martin school of home security is fround upon you know so the wicker man would probably drawn some attention from the officers of the the law.
Mind you if it was hot enough the evidence would be hard to find
😊

Slight aside, but with us now out of the EU, how do our Irish friends fare. No open borders and all, just a thought.

They believe they have an absolute right to go wherever they please. whenever they please and do whatever they please! :banghead:
