A PARD related question

How’do! Just a quick pick of the collective brain cell if I may….! A little while back I purchased a PARD 007 but for lots of reasons, which are irrelevant to the question, have never got round to using it other than hand held to see what it was like. I was planning to use it on either my .22LR or my .17HMR. However, both rifles have almost identical scopes - one, I believe is a Hawke and the other probably a copy. The issue is that both have a bevelled adjustment ring around the objective lens which the PARD clamp won’t fit over and I guess would cause issues anyway as you wouldn’t get a decent seal.

Does anyone know if that element is something that can be replaced or (my preferred option) what would anyone recommend as a cheap and cheerful replacement scope that would suit the PARD without any messing about?

Hopefully the pic below explains the issue in less words than I’ve used….. I mean, mainly, none ha ha.

If you have a set of callipers or ruler measure the width you need then look on optics warehouse (other websites available) as the attachment comes in a few sizes buy a bit bigger then needed. Then (don’t shoot me) electrical tape is your friend to bridge the gap.
Hope that makes sense.
Or my lower end scope is a niko sterling which works quite well

It shouldn't be a problem to use a larger adaptor for the Pard and shim out to get over the bumps if you have to, so long as the Pard is secure it won't effect how it operates really.

I just purchased a 48mm PARD adaptor to fit a Delta Titanium, the funny thing is I have two Delta's, same model, and the other one will take a smaller adaptor

There is also plastic shims 1, 2 and 3mm to save a lot of tape very secure
And t attachments go upto 48mm had to buy one other day from flea bay

Word of warning, I recently ordered an adapter for a NV007V from optics warehouse and they sent me the adapter for the NV007S, twice.

Also a minor point, that is the ocular lens, the objective lens is the big one at the front.

Adaptors are about 20 quid and come in 3(?) differing sizes so you should measure the ocular (blunt end) and get one to fit your scope easily enough. If you want to save some money just cut a plastic milk bottle into half-inch wide strips and use these and finish with a single turn of tape to hold them tight - this will give you a firm base to pad out any gaps.
There is a lot of very helpful info on this site about the Pard, best scopes and how to set it up properly - just use the Search facility. In my case a cheap Hawke 3-9x56 with parallax adjustment is perfect with the excellent Pard.

That's not the objective end of a scope buddy.

Country man of Derby did same refused to exchange or refund as thread's had lost paint, even though they told me to remove o ring and give it a good push as they could be tight
