A Somerset/devon meet.

Well there certainly seems to be enough interest - not sure how many of us are actually from Devon or Zummerset though! - bloody furriners. ;)

I'm on the Mid Devon/Somerset border myself but not in a position to host anything major at the moment. Might I suggest that if IanF is willing to host something along the lines suggested, (in conjunction with West1 maybe), then to take it forward it would be best if he nominates a date which is convenient to himself and then we can see what the response is?

I think a few may want to know what this is going to cost first.

Of course, but I don't see anyone else coming forward with a venue at the moment. If sea fishing is a popular option then it could always be put into the mix as well - Exmouth could be a viable local venue for that if it is to be based down that way?

I'd be up for a get together. Located in Welly so it's easy to travel in any direction.

+1 for anything do do with fishing, shooting, eating & drinking... :) Not away now until mid October, so should be able to attend! :)

Could possibly offer my farm as a venue if it would be of interest. No fishing though and definitely no shooting but can guarantee you will see deer.

I could make any place on the M5 corridor durring the week, weekend might be OK depends on rota for kids.

Would be v good if it provided an opportunity to compare all sorts of optics as there seems to be a continual debate on which is best and why.

I`m quite happy with a beach fishing session with a barby included.
Also waiting on a price from Ian as to the fallow cull.

As nothing else has come forward i`m going to suggest "A pie and a pint evening by the canal".
Friday the 3rd or the 10th of September at 7.00 - 7.30?

This pub is 5 mins from the M5 and it`s in between the Devonshires and the Wiltshires.

Hi Basil, sorry I can't make either of those dates. I owe you a pint for doing your sponsored walk - hope it goes well. All the best, Rupert.

Sounds good!

Apologies for the slow reply, I have been working.

Regarding a Fallow Cull, we ask £75 an outing with no limit on numbers taken. Venison remaining property of the estate. BUT this would be from November onwards once the Does open. Could be a bit far in the future, but worthy of discussion later in the year. Problem being, it's hardly BBQ weather about then! :)

Rgds

Ian
