A sudden allergy to dogs?

Over the lat year or so I've developed hay fever like symptoms.
I had hay fever as a child but grew out of it over later years. Move onto today and I'm sitting here tonight sneezing, constant nose blowing and the eyes are streaming.
I originally thought that maybe I was starting to get hay fever again BUT, tonight, almost half way through October? I'm doubting it.
I lost my last Lurcher Sox in April 2002 then got another, Bridie early in December 2022.
My question is ..
Could Bridie be causing these hay fever like symptoms? It's only been happening since she arrived. Would like to here some opinions.

yes it could .... I am in my 60's and never had any reaction to dogs and have had dogs for all of my childhood and most of my adult life. currently have 4.
I have reacted to cats in the past... when staying at friends when I discover the 'spare room' where I was sleeping was usually where the cat slept at night.....

my most recent dog is a spring x lab and I have reacted to him... hence anti histamine each day

Allergies are a weird thing. The gap between your two dogs may have conditioned your immune system so when it now meets the antigens it over reacts.
A friend of mine told me that bee keepers need to be stung frequently or not at all. If they get stung infrequently they develop anaphylaxis - which is what happened to him, now he can’t keep bees
