A wee rant

Again I'm struggling with my "TV Licence". I'm not really interested in the BBCs output nowadays, other than radio and coverage of music such as Glastonbury. But BBC news going to our friend P***ham for comment on the ongoing pest of Stop Oil protestors reminds me just where they are in the spectrum of political stance. He's a criminal, they're a nuisance and a hazard that needs controlled.

Scrap it then. Life is so much more liveable without TV.
This was on my radio. I pretty much listen to BBC 6music all the time.
Just because people like music that's not mainstream pop or middle of the road, doesn't automatically make them left wing. Allowing their preconceptions of their audience to influence what they broadcast in terms of news is just another indicator of their severe lack of impartiality. Bloody shame.

I heard his intro on the radio two news; turned Alexa off just in time to save hearing whatever nonsense he had to contribute.

I stopped paying my BBC license a couple of years ago.

Do not engage with them.

If they ever attend my address (they won't), I will not engage with them, and by that I mean - do not say a word to them.

I only ever use my TV for watching Netflix and YouTube (😇).

Do not engage with them.

They have to prove you are watching a licensable program, and they can only do so by your admission.

Do not engage with them.

They will write three (computer generated letters) of increasing threat, about what they are going to do to you.

These letters make great spills for your fire.

Do not engage with them.

TV Detector Vans (remember them?)

They are like the Fairy Godmother, the perfect girlfriend and the cool Creedmoor owner - they don't exist.

I often wonder how people watched the late Queens funeral when they proclaim not to have a TV as it was the last vestige of Gt Britain when she went.
Cant see watching it on their phone would have been possible.. must have been like the old days all around the neighbors.

Maybe they didn't watch it. As I didn't. There's no need to be part of the crowd to mourn. Grief is a personal thing.

"Alexa" Switch off Stalker 1962....

Ah yes.....the BBC..... this'll be the very same BBC that's just gone into full panic mode after one "well known" presenter was accused of paying £35K for some salacious pictures from a young person and rumbled by the same young persons mother! This'll also be the same fine and non judgemental BBC which also employed or still employs a "well known" presenter that had a love child (in tabloid parlance) with a strip tease artiste that we can't know about due to a non disclosure agreement.....
Still, they are always the first to spout forth from the moral high ground, so that's ok!

They are a good mile+ behind The Met...and 3 behind (pardon the pun) of the Catholic priests.

My understanding is as long as you declare that you do not watch live TV, you do not need to pay the license fee? I.e., you can still use the TV for VOD streaming such as Netflix or Amazon Prime etc. I know people who do that.

Obviously, if you want to watch other live TV channels (e.g. ITV), just not the BBC, then this won't work.

Got rid of my TV and licence about 8 years ago. Highly recommend it. Found much more interesting things to do and lost some weight too :)
