Actual Positive story from the BBC....

The headline suggests otherwise, and you can tell that the reporter is a little bit queasy, with expressions like "still legal", but, if you read the whole article:

Trophy hunting removes 'good genes' and raises extinction risk - BBC News

The author of the scientific report says:

"When properly regulated trophy hunting can be a powerful force for conservation which is why we're suggesting a different management approach as opposed to calling for a ban"

Yes I saw that in The Times. As usual biased reporting. No reference to managed hunts to protect flora in relation to grazing etc. Management with a surplus of males is the way to produce a cull to suit all concerns for the betterment of all.

The one silver lining is that it is the sort of article that intelligent people who oppose hunting might be likely to the read - and if any of them get the end of the report and see that scientists researching this stuff support managed hunting, it might at least make a few of them think, maybe question their prejudices.

I was watching Breakfast TV the other day and they mentioned a documentary about to be aired on trophy hunting. The director of the piece said he went in an anti and came out on the side of the hunter?

Never managed to find the program and was surprised when it wasnt mentioned on here?

Probably this film http://www.trophyfilm.com

I'm looking forward to watching it.

The film is called Trophy and it was aired in London for one night last month on an invite only session. It is being shown for one night in various countries. Not seen it but I gather it asks a few questions on both sides about hunting in Africa.
Hopefully it will appear somewhere we can all see it.

OH for gods sake what the point in that :(

It realy peeked my interest when I herd them discussing it on Breakfast TV and I had a list of people from Antis to fence sitters I was going to get to watch it.

Hope it hits TV soon
