Advice please- Vacuum Packing- fascia/blood taking on green/blue hue instantly

Noted for future reference your advice re products containing either bone or possibly a layer of connective tissue. Are you including "fascia" in the definition of affected "connective tissue" please

Yes, basically the layer under the skin, but between the skin and the meat.

Sounds like it may be worth trying one more piece in the nisbest roll, to determine whether it performs as before, or as the packs do.

Stay curious! 👍🏻

I would, but I'm onto new rolls of same supplier/product. and not experienced it, thank you @Freeforester .

By the way, the Nesbit embossed vac rolls get expensive, the vac bags even more so, can anyone point me to a quality, but less expensive source please? I did £9 of bags on one beast alone on Wednesday night, packing lots of leg and sirloin steak cuts off a larger beast. With prices being what they are, that smarts.

Ouch, as you say that would smart. I’ve only used the embossed rolls/bags from Lidle/Aldi and they have been fine.
My two machines will only work with the embossed bags, I bought a batch from ‘Butchers Sundries’ that were plain and the machines were unable to extract the air.

FFS! Bags for the chamber vac sealer are from £11/1000! Mind, the machine itself is about &4K now 😢

Yes, I guess they get you with the fixed cost or the variable cost. My buffalo fixed cost was £150, down from £220ish. £4k is a serious investment!

I'll check out Lidl/Aldi options, @willowbank thank you.
