Alpex 4k firmware update.

Unless I am doing something wrong (please tell me if so) the holdover marker (or SPOA if you want Pulsar jargon) still does not show on the reticle in the pip box.
I thought (hoped) that HIk had followed the Arken (DNT) Zulus lead and had adopted the procedure of the reticle in the pip box moving up/down to mimic the SPOA, again, unless it is something I am doing wrong I hoped in vain.

I held off updating after a disappointing update on my mergers.Different story. I held a conversation regarding the update with the Hickmicro rep at the Scone game fair. He confirmed we would have the update on second aiming points but no mention of changes to the magnification function. After seeing the announcement I contacted Hickmicro and they sent the attached info. Still hanging off updating to see how it goes. The merger last update for mine made the image less clear at distance during the day but now it’s getting colder again it may be better at night. Fingers crossed.

It’s changed now. The incremental zoom (which I use all the time) is now back. Did the firmware update last week and all is spot on. No change in zero, just need input your ballistic data again to use the new holdover markers, which by the way are so much better than the Red Cross over the already Red Cross centre. Worth the update just for that feature alone.

Did you find that when you go into the ballistic parameters menu that the zeroing distance has disappeared ?
I believe that it is now linked to the distance (ie 100yds) that you input when zeroing.

Sounds like your in the ballistics calculator, Go back once in the menus and the zero distance is in the zeroing profile.

Yes I experimented last night and indeed changing the zeroing distance in the zeroing menu does alter the position of the holdover marker on the reticle when different distances are lasered.
From memory I thought the zero distance line appeared in the BC parameters menu, it is not there now on my Alpex.

Noticed my app saying there's an update on what I'm currently running - if I do it will I need to re-zero?

Did the update on Thursday & used it last night for first time - something seems different. It's way more fussy now, both focus & IR fussy. Almost missed out on fox because of it.

The image takes so much more fiddling to get as good as should be, whereas pre update it was just always perfect. I was constantly tinkering with torch as something just wasn't right, pre update I'd only have to concentrate beam if I was looking at silly distances.

If this was first time using I'd be really underwhelmed.

I'm assuming I can't uninstall the update?

Anyone else had this?

Well annoyed 🫤

You’d maybe need to send it back to Hik to get it sorted

People have their favourites firmware wise it seems
