How do you import a mount or skull into Australia?
I get grief even bringing in whisky.

Good question. I have not done it but they bring Taxidermy in. I expect it can be done although it may need to be done through an importer or taxidermist to get cleared through customs.

As for bringing whisky in I think you can bring 2 litres per person. Most people bring stuff back duty free don't they?

Its honestly just researching outfitters and finding one too your needs Ideally If I was an abroad client I would be after an outfitter (or two) that offer several species on there ground given most of UK stalking is charged per outing, If your not after trophies you may as well give yourself the best odds to have a chance (or at least see) most species.

A good rule of thumb is 3 species per ground In lower England though any more is a bonus, Scotland your usually confined to roe/red or red/sika

Most guides DO believe that it is the hunter that must be insured.
It is NOT - it is the guide that needs public and professional indemnity.
That takes a lot of the so called guides out of the equation.

I'm not sure who you are with for insurance, I'm with Clivertons, and one of the conditions is the client has their own insurance.
Without us guides having this insurance we leave us and the landowner up to claims against us.

Mate, I have not over thought it yet.
My grandfather was English and my fathers side descend from Welsh miners who settled in 1890 something.
If you can make sense of my first post I'm considering options and would like to "Stalk" in the UK if I visit. I'm not familiar with your geography and maybe terminology.
I kind of feel that taking a Red Stag in Scotland might be something to remember. But I am not sure about the weather, my climate is generally hot and dry.
If we travel there some tourism is in order but my wife would tag along for a stalk for sure.
I like our Aussie Bundaberg Rum but can enjoy a scotch and an Irish whisky. Ohh, and a Guinness and a pint of good ale. .
Good food too.
It's all about the experience. I would probably consider wing shooting too. I'm prepared to pay but will look into the options.

If your visiting Wales then a trip to big pit is a must to see how your father's family would have worked
