For Sale: Anchor, chain and rope

I have a 10kg Britany anchor with 11m of 8mm chain with 45m of 8 strand nylon Octoplait anchor rope spliced to chain.
The anchor still has the price tag on £56.75, the chain is just over £7 per meter, and the rope is around £9 per meter.
This new would cost around £540, bargain at £200. Buyer to collect due to the weight.
This has never been used

Just reminds me of a story, 'back in day'.






I went to buy some anchor chain from a shop in Fowey, Cornwall.

I am not an uneducated man, I have done my homework. I have measured what we need. I have checked with the Skipper. I have got this.
So I have my bit of paper, with both yards and meters recorded thereon.

I boldly march into the shop:-

"Afternoon my good man. I am looking to purchase some of your finest anchor chain, for my Dive Club's boat. I have made a note of the lengths that I will require".

"Right you are Sir. How many fathoms would Sir be needing?
