Animal and Wildlife Bill amendment (Scotland)

Sadly, this was no surprise to anyone who has seen the political pygmies of Holyrood in action...… Sturgeon says jump and the morons in the SNP say how high, followed increasingly by the Green backside kissers. Sadly the Labour/Lib dem rabble are just as bad as they carry on with their hatred of any type of fieldsports. Leonard is just a pointless clone of the Corbyn style of "leadership". No, I don't know how anyone can vote for the SNP, but when all the press and media are so far up their backsides and will not print or show any critical content in case they get a "spontaneous" protest by the flag wavers it doesn't surprise me. Added to that the chaos that is presently enveloping the Scottish government in their absolutely dire handling of the economy and Covid 19 - I think the expression I heard is "running around like headless chickens" and the supposedly non-partisan (sic) civil servants are busy preparing memo's stating that the death rate has/had nothing to do with them. Added to that, there is a complete omerta on anything that may scupper the re-election of the same shower of nonentities next year..... be prepared for bribes from the magic money tree! (All of which will come from Westminster, but you'll never hear that). I used to like the idea of more autonomy, but the last twelve years have shown just how badly things can get in a North Korean single party state!

I for one will no longer be serving any green or SNP activists, they can f&g starve, and I will take no small pleasure in calling them out publicly on their views and leanings on the legislation when I see them.

Simple no stalking, just humanely poison them.
All concerned should down tools for the winter of discontent, let them consider the consequences of their pi$$ poor running of the show. The Covid re-emergence will keep the state sponsored slaughter in abeyance - why be a 'dancing bear' when you can simply eat the prat with the balalaika?

In 1905 Theodore Roosevelt said the following

“In a civilized and cultivated country wild animals only continue to exist at all when preserved by sportsmen. the excellent people who protest against all hunting, and consider sportsmen as enemies of wild life, are ignorant of the fact that in reality the genuine sportsman is by all odds the most important factor in keeping the larger and more valuable wild creatures from total extermination. “

It’s amazing how so little can have been learned in the last 115 years.

The worst facet of this outrageous performance is the politics rather than the effect on rural management.

The whole principle behind setting up the Scottish Parliament as a single chamber, that is no reforming chamber, such as the House of Lords, was that the function would be better performed by active committees and consultation. All fine on paper, until a dreadful bunch such as the SNP, subvert the whole ethos of The Scottish Parliament by permitting late amendments such as this one, and then compounding their sin by supporting it. This controversial and un-necessary amendment was parachuted in at the last minute, was never consulted on and was never debated in committee.

This is a shocking and disgustingl episode in Scotland's political life; the SNP and their supporters should be hanging their heads in shame. They show themselves up as completely unprincipled and amoral; total charlatans.

A bad day for Scotland

Agreed. Although this sort of thing was inevitable from the moment of devolution and almost designed in. It will continue on its course. This was only about hares. Wait until they've dug themselves in deeper into deficit and failure and it starts being about people. When the SNP starts going for some scapegoats inside Scotland........

I believe it's gone too far to save. The nationalism - and, in particular, the level of anti-Englishness has made it vanishingly improbable that any sane party can gain a majority there any more.
