So asking general opinion on a 107 sierra MK (not moly) sent at 2900 ms from a 22 inch barrel at 68 Fh. I am quering because of the evident gap from Vihtavuori official 6xc reload data (max 37,5 gr for a similar bullet: lapua scenar 105) and Ql and Gordon's reloading tools. Both raises up the load to 42/42.5 grains. Blaser R8 does not have a nail tipe extractor so I can't judge by the marks brass heads.

Go with the GRT load suggestion. Obviously work up to that.

Vhit powder charge suggestions are very conservative.

I use RS62 in mine firing 108gr ELDMs and 95gr Barnes LRXs. Can't remember the speed off of the top of my head on the 108gr ELDMs but the 95gr LRXs are going at 3050ft/s for an accurate load.

Just checked. The ELDMs are going at 2930ft/s

My barrel is 24" long.

Went a dream out of my 22" 8 twist 243, N555. Lots of them (107 SMK) if you're looking to stock up.

@ Jcampbelsmith & Colin, I started my load development from 38,05 gr and raised up to 41,7 then settled at 41,0. Without the chance to read extractor's. marks I can rely only on personal feeling & chronoed speeds. 38.5 gr gave me 844 ms ( 2769 fts) 41,7 gr 895 ms (2936fts) and 41gr where where in the middle at 866 ms (2841 fts). No sticky bolt but: some brass developed the donuts and two where clicker (well cured with a pass throu a Redding 308 body small base die). Mind thisbis a hunting rifle not for LR so may step down another full grain and a half for summer and stay at 41 gr in cold winter.

I´ve reloaded 6xc for a custom Sako, R93 & R8 and then a custom Pierce. Always settled for approximately 39g N160 with the ScenarL 105 that is used for Capercaillie hunting in the winter. Bullet seated 5/10 -1mm from the lands.

Hallo PasqualeM. Thankyou so much for sharing Your's data. Seems me You took my same way. 39/39,2 grains of N160 would lead a107 bullet to 850 (2778) fts wich is way enough for hunting at 200/300 range.
