Apple Watch Ultra, Opinions Please?

Not sure, I think it might be the touch screen?

Years ago I had a Blackberry and a couple of my mates were getting iPhones, they were telling me to switch, which I resisted, when I did though, wow, it was like those Blackberrys were carved from blocks of stone in comparison.
I am a bit of an apple fanboy which is why I bought it in the end. I like the Ultra and don't regret getting rid of my Garmin but I am struggling to give a good reason to switch!

I have had an Ultra since they first came out so probably about 18 months now. I never take it off so it’s been in the shower, car engine bay, swimming pools, the sea, inside deer, work, climbing etc. To be honest it still looks like new. The strap has a few loose threads but even that still has years of life left.

Battery used to be the problem with the older gen Apple Watches but the Ultra lasts about 3-5 days depending on which battery use you use.

I have got a series 1 ultra and I like it. Had it about a year, it has survived very well, don’t think it’s picked up any damage at all. I have it so the screen is off until I raise my wrist and then it turns on and usually get 2-3 days from a charge.
I would get one, don’t think there is much difference between 1st and 2nd series so if you don’t mind not having the new features save some money and get a series 1.
Costco usually have some deals if you’re a member.

I have a first generation Apple Ultra. I’ve been amazed at how it has stood up to daily abuse. Never had any water ingress or shock damage. The glass has a few light scratches on but the case still looks good. Wore it daily for 18 months.
Same, battery amazing,I pay Apple Care for it so don't treat it gently and its been flawless - I'm fitter and healthier thanks to its metrics, and I like the peace of mind with the cellular connectivity.

I have been fancying one for a while but am just a little hesitant as to how robust they are (or aren't)?

I had an earlier Apple Watch and I'm not sure that would have stood up to daily wear in the workshop, that is the bit that concerns me, that day to day workshop life, I am currently sporting a Garmin and that is fine around the 'shop, I am 90% happy with the Garmin and even that missing 10% is no fault of the watch, I just think I'd prefer Apple, and a touch screen.

Any thoughts or experience welcomed, cheers all.
I have the latest. Best purchase & wayyy better than my Garmin. I’ve an iPhone so works flawlessly.
It’s cellular but don’t subscribe as you’ve always got your phone on you so it makes calls etc via that anyway.
Brilliantly intuitive to use. I set the side button for tracking/walks, if you forget to hit it it recognises a regular route or a duration of walk & asks if you want to record, it then catches up from when you started.
Amazon do Dpigen screen protectors & case covers, just check the case is described as takes screen protector.
You won’t be sorry
